The History Behind Pride Month
Pride Month, is an annual celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community’s resilience and the ongoing fight for equality. It has a rich history dating back to 1969 and the Stonewall Uprising. Where Queer individuals in New York City resisted police harassment at the Stonewall Inn. Igniting a flame of activism that gave birth to the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement.
Throughout the years, Pride Month has evolved into a global celebration characterised by parades and parties, subsequently serving as a vivid reminder that love, acceptance, and equality triumph over prejudice and discrimination.
