FULLDOME PRODUCTION IN PLYMOUTH

FILMS MADE FOR A FULLDOME EXPERIENCE

Unlike standard video, fulldome films are made to wrap around a dome rather than sit in a rectangular frame. Soundview is a Plymouth production company that shoots 360 video, including with our own 360 drone, then creates and finishes fulldome content in 8K and above for domes and immersive venues across the UK

FULLDOME PRODUCTION IN POST

Together, we handle the edit, colour grading and sound dubbing, all in one place. Sound dubbing is more complex in a dome, however, because the audio has to follow the picture around a 360 space. For that reason, we mix the sound so it surrounds and immerses your audience completely. The Market Hall dome is capable of 19.1 surround sound, so we can place even a single drop of water where it belongs in the space.

8K FULLDOME DELIVERY

We deliver finished films in 8K and above, so your content is ready for the next generation of dome projectors. In fact, we have even worked at 12K: some of the graphics the University of Plymouth supplied for its Smart Sound Connect Subsurface (SSCS) project were rendered at that size, and our workflow was able to handle them. Each film is converted to the venue’s own specification, so it plays correctly on the dome it is made for.

Beyond the dome, we can also fit your film to other immersive technology, such as traditional 16:9 video, virtual reality and augmented reality, so you get multi-format versions from the same content.

ACCESS TO AN AMAZING LOCAL FACILITY

Because we are based in Plymouth, we have access to the Market Hall in Devonport, home of Europe’s first 210-degree immersive dome. We are able to review and test our fulldome content there, so you can see exactly how it will look before it is delivered.

INCLUDIVERSE IN THE DOME

In addition, we have integrated the Includiverse smart glasses app and accessible solution into the dome, a world-first use of augmented subtitles in a dome. The Market Hall now has several pairs of the smart glasses, so audiences can follow subtitles as they watch.
