Working with a new client

We enjoyed producing this documentary and working with Dr Munira Raji and her colleagues who share our people and planet values. Munira hadn’t worked on a video production project before, so she was eager to learn the processes and techniques.  As the project progressed Munira’s confidence in expressing her creative ideas grew. Munira is a leading expert in her field, so it was paramount that we understood what she wanted to communicate and how to bring those concepts alive on screen.

” This was my first time commissioning my first film and I found the whole process scary at first. I watched a lot of documentaries and started to wonder how they were created so even though the initial start was scary I eventually got the hang of it. My background is in geology and they don’t teach you how to communicate science, we don’t talk to people outside our comfort zone so this has been a really interesting experience for me. I started enjoying it the moment I realised that this was happening and it was going to go beyond me. It is going to be out there for everyone to see and understand, it’s what I really wanted. “ Dr Munira Raji, University Of Plymouth

Step out of your comfort zone

By her own admission Munira had to step out of her comfort zone to lean new skills and make a valuable contribution to the “Journey To The Bottom Of The Sea”  documentary. So why not take a leaf out of Munira’s book. No matter what your background, think about  the power of video to communicate with your audience make sure you choose a supportive, likeminded,  production company and above all enjoy the experience to be proud of your creative outputs.
