SoundView’s Immersive Film Selected to Feature at Full Dome UK
When Full Dome UK selected our Green Minds 360 immersive documentary to feature at this year’s prestigious national event, we were really pleased. The competition to showcase work at the festival was fierce, with over a hundred entries. So when we found out that our film was one of a handful chosen, it was cause for celebration and of course, we will be there to watch it when it features on Friday 13th October at Cult VR in Cardiff.
What is Full Dome UK?
Full Dome UK (FDUK) is an annual event which celebrates creative content made for immersive and 360 environments and an opportunity for audiences, filmmakers and other artists to witness the amazing innovations in this field. The festival happens over two days and is a key event in the worldwide Full Dome calendar. As immersive content is our passion, we would have been at the event, come what may. But having one of our films featured, well that’s a very large cherry on an excellent cake!
Our 360 Film
Our Green Minds mini-documentary celebrates the amazing re-wilding of Green Spaces in Plymouth. Not only that, but it’s also Albert-certified, which means it’s one of our carbon-neutral productions. This is particularly appropriate for a film that celebrates the work of the incredible volunteers working tirelessly to bring nature to urban Plymouth. The film documents their successes, from tending an urban farm it creating wildflower meadows, .
“Imagine a city alive with green and blue. Where you can hear bird songs and bugs buzz on every street. Where tufted wild spaces and edges are a highway for scurrying, hopping, and flying. And we sow seeds of change and green minds grow and thrive.”
More about Full Dome UK
Last year, Plymouth’s Market Hall hosted the event and featured national and global content. The first FDUK event took place at the IVT dome at the University of Plymouth in 2010. Since then, further events have taken place at the Thinktank Planetarium in Birmingham and the National Space Centre in Leicester. For us, it provides a perfect opportunity to rub shoulders with other creators and artists. A place where we can share expertise and gain inspiration from the best of the best immersive content makers from around the UK.
After our success this year, we can’t wait to continue on our 360 film journey, who knows what the future may hold?
