This 2022 year review might be a long one. It’s been a busy and rewarding 12 months. From creating some stunning films up and down the country and expanding our work within 360 content to up grading our office space and launching our new website.
In addition, Soundview declared a climate emergency this year. This means we set a goal to become net zero by 2030. And we are pleased to say, we are already making great progress in reaching this target. This includes off-setting some of our film productions. Here’s the year from the point of view of all at Soundview.
Climate Emergency From
“Wow, what a year! – Soundview has produced scores of films for a wide range of clients, locally, regionally and nationally and we’ve enjoyed every single one of them. My highlight of the past 12 months has not been a single project, but rather our achievement as a team to collectively reduce the impact we have on the environment. Soundview declared a climate emergency in 2022 and has set a target of reaching net zero by 2030.”
“Furthermore, we have been working in collaboration with our clients to carbon audit and offset our productions. Thanks to everyone who has helped us on our carbon reduction journey, by creating certified carbon-neutral videos. And a massive thank-you to Kelsey Parsons for taking the lead. In 2023 my ambition is to increase the number of productions that carry the Albert Carbon Neutral certification logo – I hope your film will be one of those. Here’s to a low-carbon 2023.” – Gareth Allen, Managing Director
Lizzy Returns and Shares Her 2022 Year Review
“After a year away from regular days in the office due to family circumstances, it was good to come back into the office in October. The change of office space to the top floor of the business centre this year meant I had a new desk and a new view. It also meant we now all share a space, which makes collaboration easier.”
“Another change was our progress in our journey towards Net Zero. As a Director, I had been party to our aims to become a Carbon-Neutral business. But it was great to see how far Soundview had come with its own journey as well as working with clients to achieve Albert certificates for their video productions. corse, the fact that these have been awarded to several of our films is amazing.”
“I’ve also really enjoyed seeing some of the fruits of our recent labour. Our 360 films for the Market Hall and our work with Time Team and The Box on Screen stands out. It was one of the best bits of the job, watching the videos we’ve made, and seeing them through from concept to delivery. It’s something I’ve missed, so I’m looking forward to returning to Soundview, being a part of those projects once again.” – Lizzy Allen, Director of Productions
Time Team-A Great Project for Chris
‘We got the opportunity to work on a number of projects for Time Team this year. Being a part of their new incarnation for the digital age is exciting on its own, but working with the incredible team and witnessing some of the astonishing historical discoveries made this project special.”
“The team worked all around the country, including close to home on Dartmoor. This made the history even more interesting. In addition, we got to meet the Time Team crew, old and new, which created an exciting buzz around the office.” – Chris Dewar, Director of Post Production
360 Dome Creation and Chloe’s Highlights
“We created some stunning films this year, but the one I’m most proud of is our ‘Follow The Water’ SEND Dome film. Because the theme was the journey and lifecycle of water, I found it very peaceful and tranquil.”
“Its target audience was children with special educational needs and disabilities. As a result the reception the film received was outstanding. It once again reminds us of the value of our hard work and dedication” – Chloe Wardle, Creative Digital Content Producer
English Riviera and Jamie’s 2022 Year Review
“2022 was a really exciting year for me. I have learnt so much about video production and have gained brand new skills and connections. My favourite project was creating content for the English Riviera Attractions Partnership which was a special treat, spending long days in awesome locations.”
“My top attraction to direct and film at was The Golden Hind – a recreation of Sir Francis Drakes’s ship, because it had loads of character. I really enjoyed travelling and being busy. I am already looking forward to the 2023 Summer. Can’t wait to see what it brings.” – Jamie Venter, Media Management
As we look towards 2023, we’ve got a host of exciting projects lined up. Look out for news we’ll share with you in our regular blog posts and social media.
From everyone at Soundview Media, have a safe and wonderful happy new year!
