The film we created highlights Plymouth’s role in the conflict. From those fighting on the front line, to the families back at home, many in our city played a crucial role. Plymouth is hosting a wide range of events and commemorations for this anniversary, some of which are happening at The Box, the city’s museum and art gallery.
Inside the Media Lab, you can find three massive screens that immerse you in the story. The film is a montage of archival images from The Box’s collection and reportage from the Imperial War Museum, RAF Museum and ITV. The first hand, gripping accounts of those who fought in the war and the people who supported them back home are at the heart of the narrative and gives a moving insight into the horror of war.
Soundview’s Relationship with The Falklands
Some of our team have been lucky enough to visit the islands in the South Atlantic. In 2018 we shot and created video content for The Falkland Islands Tourist Board. As part of the trip we visited and filmed some of the famous battlefields such as Goose Green, San Carlos and Wireless Ridge. And after all this time you can still find remnants of the war strewn around the landscape, artillery guns, field kitchens and downed aircraft.
It was humbling to work with this incredible archive footage and hear the stories from those who lived through those times. Check the film out for yourself, entry to The Box is free.
