Meadow View: All in the blink of an eye.

Come rain or shine, one of Soundview's time-lapse cameras will sit steadfast over the coming year to record the construction of Meadow View: A brand new adult social care facility in Plymouth.

Meadow View

£13 million is going towards a brand new, purpose-built care facility for adults with complex needs and learning disabilities. Meadow View will provide daytime care for over 60 adults as well as overnight respite care. This will include a communal daytime hub, opportunities to develop independent living skills and even an increase in biodiversity thanks to a new garden in the works. Soundview set up a timelapse camera to record the construction of the building from start to finish. The camera will condense the year-long project into just a few minutes, and if only it were that easy!

What Does Timelapse Actually Mean?

Timelapse cameras shoot individual images at set intervals, for this project we’re shooting one frame every 15 minutes. Those images are then stitched together to give a sense of a passage of time. Here at Soundview we’re no stranger to timelapse projects (watch a previous project of ours to see timelapse in action) therefore we know it’s not a case of setting up the camera and walking away – quite the opposite in fact.

To capture the full development of the building the camera will remain in situ for a year powered by it’s own solar panel.  The camera was set up in August 2025 and will sit through rain, sleet, snow and any other weather phenomenon that the winter of 2025/26 might have in store for us. We can access the camera remotely so if there is an extreme weather event we’ll be able to respond very quickly. Check, check and check again.

All in the Blink of an Eye

Meadow View will bring support and reassurance to so many people and their families and is being built by the team at Devon Contractors. We can’t wait to see what the building looks like when it is all finished…if only we could speed it up!
