Cornwall male voice choir

Soundview was recently in a beautiful part of the South West. Filming a promotional video for the male voice choir. Chris Joined the 'Magnificent Ak 47' during there mini tour of Cornwall. The name of the group came from using the initials of where they are from (Ashton Keynes). Plus the average age of the group, that being 47. They wanted the film to show their magnificent abilities as singers, but also to give people an insight to the fun to be had as part of the group. Whilst wearing a variety of hats and accessories they offer serious singing.

Promotional video South West

The first day was a hike to one of Cornwall’s iconic locations, the Cheesewring. It is a natural geological formation. Legend has it, it’s the remnants of a stone throwing competition between saints and giants! The Cornwall male voice choir hiked up with us and it was a long old hike!

Unfortunately, on the day of filming the sun failed to shine and the rain came down, which isn’t the weather we would usually film in. However, it gave us some very moody looking shots. The evening concert at Port Isaac Village hall went down a storm. The next day the sun came out for some fantastic shots of the men singing on the beach.

“A relative of mine requested some help in filming some footage of his singing group to showcase their talent and encourage new members to join. Singing at every opportunity in pubs, on the moor and at a fair number of bemused tourists. The next day I headed back down to Polzeath to grab some shots in the Glorious Cornish sunshine.” – Chris, Soundview

The approach to this video was to have the Ak’s sing the same track in various locations, and add in some of the atmosphere from the tour. It had them enjoying the delights of Cornwall with great food and iconic locations. The group stopped for Lunch on Sunday at The Waterfront Polzeath with a pint (or two) of St Austell Brewery’s finest, Tribute. Drunk responsibly, of course. This made some of the timings of the singing interesting when it came to the editing the whole piece in sync.
