Congratulations shortlist 2017 Cornwall Tourism Awards
Soundview would like to congratulate all the local businesses for the hard work they have pulled off during our most busy season of the year. With summer sadly leaving us and it beginning to feel like a distant memory (which may have something to do with our tremendously busy schedules!) we will be reaching for our wooly jumpers and scarves in no time. Therefore, we thought we would reflect upon the great summer we have had this year for Tourism.
Firstly, we would like to raise a glass to all those shortlisted finalists for 2017 in the Cornwall Tourism Awards. We are excited to see such a strong line of entries. As our first year sponsoring this particular award, we feel we have picked a winning category. With a total of six businesses being shortlisted for the ‘Active and Sporting Experience Award‘:
Finalists
- Lanhydrock, National Trust – outdoor offer, Bodmin
- Newquay Activity Centre, Newquay
- Scilly Seal Snorkelling, Isles of Scilly
Highly Commended
- Mylor Sailing School, Falmouth
- Retallack Resort and Spa, St Columb
- Ticket To Ride Surf School, Perranporth
What’s Great about Tourism in the South West
Tourism is essential to the South West; it brings work and investment. And visitors have high hopes for what’s on offer in the region. So it’s fantastic to see that these particular Cornish destinations meet the exacting standards of the awards: recognition of their excellence. And our savvy South West clients also so know about the power of video: a great way to promote tourism. Check out our video for Lappa Valley Steam Railway one of our Cornwall clients, above.
Of course the South West is a great place to promote. And all year round we are hard at work shooting and producing some incredible footage. It includes beautiful aerial shots of the landscapes, both coastal and countryside, and more recently our 360 VR tours and attractions. And we are pleased to know all of this has been working wonderfully for our clients. They highlight the world class tourism offered in the South West.
Keep in the know
After the summer holidays, everyone is getting ready to settle in for the long winter. The kid’s are returning to school and it is that time of year to slip back in to your routines at home with a warm cup of tea. Fancy an evening read by the fire to go along with that? Great! We always keep you updated on our projects, including the latest news from the awards ceremony this November!
