The Big Lunch
The Big Lunch is an annual event that happens nationwide. It’s all about building communities. Neighbours come together to share friendship, food and fun. Originally an idea from the Eden Project in 2009, its popularity has grown and grown. Now 6 million people take to the streets every year and a fantastic £8m was raised last year alone.
Eden and The Big Lunch decided to celebrate this year’s event in Wadebridge with CBBC TV legends Dick and Dom. They were there to promote this fabulous day and it certainly worked. There was a great turn out and Dick and Dom’s appearance certainly delighted the younger members of the audience. With live music from Britain’s Got Talent’s Josh Curnow plus street entertainment, there was lots to see and do.
We really enjoyed filming this fun and popular event and seeing our footage on the news. It certainly had the ex-TV news journalists among us smiling. Let’s hope that having hit the news, next year even more people join in. As always it was a pleasure filming at The Eden Project!
