Putting the Spotlight on Sustainable Projects

Over the last two years we've worked hard on our sustainability journey and we're delighted that we've been able to take our clients on this journey too. In this blog we highlight our top 3 sustainable projects, could yours be joining them?

Albert Certification

The Albert certification scheme is an accreditation scheme used by video producers to certify that production and its processes are carbon neutral. To do this the production minimises its carbon spend and then offsets the small remaining amount. Our top three sustainable projects of the year are all Albert-certified with more than a 70% certification rating!

Safer Internet Day

We have been working with The UK Safer Internet Centre since 2015 and in that time we have built a good and trusting relationship. So, working with the team at UKSIC on a carbon-neutral production was a way of putting our shared values into practice. The theme for Safer Internet Day 2023 was ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online.’ We had a great day working at Anfield, where we filmed students from schools from across Liverpool. We worked hard to reduce our footprint on this shoot. Doing all the pre-production planning virtually and online contributed to getting the certification on this one.

Green Minds

The 360 documentary short “Green Minds” was commissioned by Real Ideas and the Green Minds project in Plymouth to celebrate and showcase the hard work of local communities who are re-wilding parts of the city, to improve our connections and interactions with nature. We’re particularly proud of this short film as it was our first proper opportunity to create a bespoke documentary-style film for the immersive dome world. It premiered at The Market Hall Dome in the Spring of 2023 to coincide with World Earth Day. Green Minds was really special because it was so local! Everything was shot in Plymouth and where we did need to travel car sharing and planning multiple shoots on the same day that were closer together was the key.

Journey to the bottom of the Celtic Sea

“Journey to the Bottom of the Celtic Sea,” explores the development of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea – the new frontier of renewable energy. This exciting documentary gives you a real insight and understanding of floating offshore wind and what lies at the bottom of the Celtic Sea. Making this documentary as sustainable as possible was no easy feat. There were lots of on-location shoots which meant a lot of travel – to minimise our carbon spend we made sure to car share as much as possible and use archive footage where we could.

Our sustainable projects

To all of our clients who, like us, care about the environment and want to work on making their projects better – we thank you! Without the important input from you, our carbon-neutral productions wouldn’t be possible.
