Disability Confident Organisations play a leading role in changing attitudes for the better. They’re changing behaviour and cultures in their own businesses, networks and communities, and reaping the benefits of inclusive recruitment practices.
What does this mean?
Over 7.7 million people of working age in the UK are disabled or have a health condition. Historically there has been a significant gap between the proportion of disabled people employed compared with non-disabled people.
This scheme helps employers recruit and retain great people. It allows us to draw from the widest possible pool of talent, and secure high-quality staff who are skilled, loyal and hardworking. It will also improve employee morale and commitment by demonstrating that you treat all employees fairly.
It helps customers and other businesses identify those employers who are committed to equality in the workplace.
The scheme has 3 levels designed to support employers on their journey, these are:
- Committed (level 1)
- Employer (level 2)
- Leader (level 3)
Soundview’s next step is for members of our team to become Disability Confident leaders which we are actively working on.We will update you on this progress!
