Teams travelled from as far as Swindon and Truro to play in Taunton. This is the first leg of six tournaments in what is the third year of the regional league. The day comprised of six games and it was a long but thrilling day. Many of the results were very close and the Devon FA referees had some difficult decisions, but throughout spirits were high and the atmosphere was brilliant.

Ocean City versus Exeter Kick Off
Power Chair Football
In this game, each side has four players on the court. The chairs, which are specially adapted or purpose made power chairs, have bumpers the players use to hit the football and each half is twenty minutes in duration. The sport is played regionally, nationally and internationally in the UK with the most successful teams regularly competing in Nottingham. And this year Kissimmee, Florida hosted the World Cup in July.
Ocean City PFC
Players of all ages compete in this exciting sport. Originally, Helen Phelps Starbuck founded Ocean City PFC four years ago. Helen had played powerchair football at a premiership level and decided to set up a club in her home town. Unfortunately, Helen passed away in the summer of 2016, but both the club and the South West league are her legacy. Her family and friends now run the club. Helen is an inspiration to the team and all who met her, and Soundview are proud to sponsor Ocean City and wish them all the best for the new season.
