June until August is usually our busiest filming time, shooting on location and making the most of the sunshine. But with this year’s exceptional weather it was almost too good to be true. Those long, dry days made perfect filming conditions and boy, did we take advantage of it! We were lucky enough to find ourselves in many awesome locations, working in places many people make a beeline for in the summer.
Working for great clients such as the English Riviera and Visit Truro, we filmed attractions and locations throughout the South West, capturing some great footage. Just some of the amazing places we managed to visit included Paignton Zoo, Kent’s Cavern, Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown.
Giraffes, Waterslides and Trains – But Not at the Same Time!
Each attraction we worked at was uniquely fun, whether it was getting up close with giraffes, going down waterslides or hanging out on the footplate of a steam train. Soundview’s manager, Jamie Venter, was fortunate to go on a lot of the shoots:
“It was fast-paced but nonetheless incredibly fun, getting to do those kinds of shoots made me feel really lucky. After all, who gets to say they went down water slides whilst working? I think my favourite shoot I went on was The Golden Hind over at Brixham. Shooting in a pirate ship whilst on the water was really cool. The space was limited and the lighting was tricky but it made for an exciting and engaging shoot.”
Adapting to every location and set of circumstances is what makes our work so interesting. And if we get to hang out in a cool place at the same time, that’s even better! Fancy seeing some of the destination films we made? Click on the links below.
