GoPro fusion, it’s lived up to our expectations. It has already been out and about. Within a week of arriving in our office, it’s been attached to several rollercoasters (see Chris above) and on high rope walkways and zip wires at Go Ape, Haldon Forest, Devon.
What can the GoPro Fusion do?
The GoPro Fusion creates the 360 VR image with only two lenses on either side of the camera. The fisheye effect of the lenses means the stitch lines are almost untraceable, especially after some post-production fixing. With a resolution of 5.2k video and 18MP photos, the camera produces high quality visuals.
What is Overcapture?
Overcapture is GoPro’s new piece of software that gives consumers the opportunity to create 1080p flat videos from 360 VR recordings. The consumer has full control over the direction and angle of the 360 recording. For example, in the official GoPro promo above there is a shot of a surfer riding a wave, the camera pans from looking at the surfer to what the surfer is looking at. Gareth, Creative Director here at Soundview, gave the Fusion a whirl underwater and on a skateboard. Gareth tested out the Overcapture feature which you can see in the video below:
