This Could Be A Life Changer: User Testing

The Includiverse team have been on the road again, visiting the North East for the latest round of user testing for our cinema smart glasses app.

User testing of any project that’s in development is one of the most crucial steps to getting a product or service to market. The feedback you receive informs changes, and improvements you make for future iterations. We’ve been collecting quantitive and qualitative data at each user testing session. And the qualitative information you gather sometimes takes you by surprise, particularly when it affirms what you have been setting out to achieve.

Latest Test Results

While trying out our smart glasses solution for better access to big screen entertainment, one of the members of our user testing group said, “This could be a life changer”. And it was clear from the emotion in her voice how important this technology could be to enable her to access more public spaces. It’s feedback like this that makes us even more determined to create a truly innovative product for Deaf people.

Our Mission

Here at the Includiverse, we are on a mission to increase accessibility to content for some of the most disadvantaged of people and one step towards reducing inequalities is our Inclusive Immersive Smart Glasses App. This technology uses augmented reality equipment to project subtitles and British Sign Language directly into the wearer’s field of vision, giving Deaf and Neurodiverse audiences more choice about how they experience cinema.

Thank-you Team

The Includiverse team have been travelling around the UK to facilitate user testing for this research and development phase of our smart glasses, and none of this would have been possible without the generosity of Innovate UK’s Creative Catalyst fund. As the saying goes there is no ‘I’ in team and we give our greatest of thanks to our partners. Without their time, expertise and belief in our project, getting to this stage would not have been possible.

And, lastly, thank-you to our user testing groups! To those of you up and down the country who gave up your time to test our smart glasses, provide us with invaluable feedback and expertly pose for the odd promotional close-up. With your help we are many steps closer to achieving our mission.
