As part of our work for The Box, Plymouth have produced a series of videos showing the construction of the new History Centre. Our latest time-lapse video production combines all of the webcam footage captured of the building works at Tavistock Place since day 1. A lot of exciting work has happened over the last year of construction and it was an exciting challenge to produce a short film, with so much footage. The film works particularly well showing the progression of the building over time.

The Box team have uploaded a time-lapse film to their YouTube channel. Although the official launch is in 2020, this film already gives the viewers a good idea of what the building will look like. It will also keep those who are interested in the building process of The Box updated.

Time-lapse video production of the Box

The box is a new attraction in the heart of Plymouth. We were able to recorded the progress of it being built and to do this we set up our time lapse camera on a building opposite the site. The footage we have collected means we can create regular updates on its progress. These videos can be viewed by anyone who is interested in the project on The Box’s Youtube.

One of our favourite parts in the time-lapse is during the July 2017 footage, where the original building is completely removed and destroyed! Furthermore, in May 2018 you start to see the shape of the building develop as they build up the outer wall. Although a lot of progress has been made within a year, the construction continues. The old museum is now on its way to becoming The Box.
