Soundview’s approach to COVID
We are well aware of the rising case numbers and local contacts who have tested positive. Because of this, we are still implementing steps that will help ourselves and those around us.
If we have Covid symptoms then we will still take a lateral flow test. If we test positive and we are feeling well enough, we will work from home.
The work from home initiative applies to any form of cold, flu or anything you don’t want to pass on to others. It’s not only a way of helping to keep everyone else germ free at work, it’s also just polite!
So how does a media company effectually work from home? Well through the power of technology, it’s now easier than ever – and we’re not just talking about Zoom meetings.
How to Work Digitally from Home
Of course, the communication side is covered by phone calls or zoom meetings. And we have multiple accounts to be able to edit from home. But how do we access the footage needed? That’s where our wonderful and clever sever systems come into play.
All of our footage, assets and production details are on the server. This means whether in the office, at home or on location, we can connect, find what we need and work quickly and effectively.
We installed the server late last year and we have fully integrated our working style around it. Not only is it a home for everything we need to create our content, but we can also quickly search and find exactly what we’re looking for, as well as tagging videos should we need that specific shot.
We believe that a healthy working environment is not only a safe but a happy one too. This is why for the foreseeable future, we will do whatever is needed to make sure we keep producing great content, no matter where we do that from.
