Behind The Scenes at Soundview – First Half of 2022

The Soundview team has been busy working on a variety of projects so far this year, to keep you up to date here are just a few of them.

Time Team

We got down and dirty with Time Team back in January. The show originally ran on tv from 1994 to  2014. Since then, a Patreon channel has been created, which is funded by fans of the show allowing new episodes to appear online regularly.

We filmed one of their new mini-episodes, highlighting laser scanning in a Devon farmhouse. This scan allowed the building to be created in a 3D game engine. We worked closely alongside The University of Plymouth and the Time Team to help film this episode and we’re so glad to see it highly enjoyed by fans old and new.

The Box

Once again we have been working closely with The Box to create new content. We started the year with a co-production for The National Portrait Gallery which features the 100 Journeys exhibition.

The film takes a tour around the galley with one of the curators as we explore what works are on display and their importance to the area. It’s fascinating learning more about our local history through these important figures in history.

Other exhibitions we filmed for were; Another Crossing, Breaking the Mould, When Tigers Smoked, and the upcoming George Shaw: The Local.

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day 2022 might have passed but that doesn’t mean stop creating content for this important day. We visited schools in Somerset, Surry and Wiltshire and focused on ‘Real or Fake News’ on the Internet. The films were created for children and young people with special educational needs.

Safer Internet

These were a busy couple of days, one that was highly rewarding. However, the work didn’t stop there. Filming picked up back at the end of March in the form of a live educational event. Open to those who work with children, the event gives the latest information on online safety, new tools and technology, and resources to help educate young people.

Eden Timelaps

We have recently set up one of our timelapse cameras at the Eden Project, Cornwall, to capture the building process of a new educational centre. The camera will need to be checked every month for the next six months. After that time, we are moving the camera indoors and captured the furnishing stage of the building until complete.

After we’ve retrieved the camera, we can easily splice each day together and watch the building be created and decorated from the ground up in super speedy time!

Of course, there are plenty more projects and events going on but we wanted to share light on these exciting productions that might have been missed.
