Big Screens, Big Impact
Recently our client Spirent attended the Mobile World Congress, MWC18 is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry, held in Barcelona. They commissioned us to create a video and display screen to fill their eight metre wide stand. The video was made especially for events. Featuring animation and graphics, it showed the capability of their products. Spirent is the leading global provider of testing, assurance, analytics, and security solutions and it was essential to demonstrate their area of expertise.
Whilst representatives were able to speak with visitors to their stand, the rolling video showed to a wider audience exactly what they do. This resulted in greater engagement and was a great way to publicise the company. The video provided context for business discussions and can be reused at events as well on the company’s website.
360 VR Video
Another great way to use video at events is to immerse visitors in your world with 360 VR. Provide a 360 VR station ( a simple swivel chair and a 360 VR headset) and visitors can experience whatever you offer in a truly engaging way. Destination marketing organisations were quick to see the potential.Take, for example, the South West Coast Path Association‘s use of VR at Vakantiebuers. Global tourism and travel organisations attend this event. In order to show the fantastic sights and sounds of the coast path, our client commissioned us to make 360 VR video of key locations along the route. They experienced more visitors to the stand and generally greater engagement as a result.
Similarly our clients Whiteley Wildlife Conservation Trust and St Mellion International Resort used 360 VR video to show what they do so well. For Whitley Trust their video allowed visitors to experience animal enrichment. From dangling over tiger enclosures to sharing mealtimes with meerkats, a 360 VR headset gave a unique perspective. The Trust reported long queues at Scientist Live 2017, a gathering of world-wide animal experts. And for St Mellion 360 VR meant that prospective wedding couples could see the transformation of their resort into the perfect wedding venue.
Event Expo Video: Who You Are and What You Do
There’s no denying that event expo video attracts visitors to your stand. But it also clearly signposts who you are and what you do. It answers questions and a good quality video makes your business look great. Perhaps the simplest way to use video is to have it on a small screen. This may be a video that you already have on your website. Many expos offer exhibition screens for hire, but equally a large flat screen TV on a table is a great way to show your video. Often at expos there’s a fair amount of noise, so if your website’s video has a lot of interviews you might consider adding subtitles or graphics. Or alternatively you could have a video made especially for the event. You can always get extra value from the video by placing it on the front page of your website.
